Dr. Tulsky's areas of expertise are primary care HIV/AIDS with a focus on vulnerable populations (addicts, currently and formerly incarcerated adults).
Her current research activities (in the San Francisco jail) address:
- Adherence to ARVs in jailed HIV infected adults.
- Use of opiate replacement therapy for incarcerated addicts.
- Evaluation of preventive therapy for TB.
Her international HIV/AIDS work includes:
- HIV education and capacity building in Cote d'Ivoire, Africa.
- Studies of HIV testing methods in rural India.
