Oliver Bacon, MD

Dr. Oliver Bacon earned his medical degree from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and completed an internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. He went on to complete a graduate degree in public health at the University of California at Berkeley in 2001 as well as an infectious disease fellowship at UCSF in 2002.Oliver's clinical interests include general internal medicine, infectious disease, and HIV. In addition to caring for patients, he is pursuing research on the detection of early HIV infection in San Francisco and Brazil, on ways to incorporate HIV prevention into medical care, and on the use of Web-based clinical vignettes to evaluate training needs of HIV providers in resource-limited settings. Oliver will continue his work with OPTIONS and with HIV Insight; he will be co-directing ASPIRE with Dr. Royce Lin and will be working on Ward 86.
